After many fellow deviants asked me how I make my frames, I decided to make a "Frame Tutorial"...
This deviation is the first part of it.
I'll try to submit tutorials for other frames in the next days...

Just fullview to have a look!

The tutorial is made for Photoshop.
I normally use Photoshop CS, but the instructions would work with former versions, too...
Please note, that this tutorial is just for personal use inside DeviantArt.
All photos that are shown are made and copyrighted by myself!

Please give me feedback, it is my first try in tutorials!
Comments and Critique are very welcome!
Please :+fav: it if you like it...

Simone

i'm curious why you would shrink the picture instead of adding a number to pixels to the canvas size ... but everyone has their own methods I guess. I'm not one for fancy frames anyways, but I did start to make then a wee bit fancier recently =)

I don't know why I do this, too...
It just came to my mind when I learned photoshop by myself...
I just didn't know how to expand the canvas then...

very nice tutorial, sometimes even explaining simple things can be hard. Good job.

yeah there are tons of ways to make frames... but as prolly 80% of the photographers learned Photoshop on their own... every one has their own way. Yours just happens to be very easy. Thanks for sharing.

I don't think your way to do it is the easiest or the best.. but if you think it works, I wont try to change your mind.. =)

Oh, I do know other ways, too...
But I have never learnd how to use PS CS properly - I just tried something and if it works I used it again.
So it's clear, that there are better ways... :)

Thanks a lot - the others seem to be a bit more difficult, but I work on them
